How often do you read anything other than the newspaper? For many of us who spend more of our time working, hardly read anything other than the newspaper and possibly a magazine or two for entertainment.
To be successful, it is important to dedicate yourself to lifelong learning. Many of us see what a successful individual has, nice house, swanky car, admirable job and a big fat bank account. What many of us don't see is what they do to achieve that and continous learning is a trait which one must instill in himself to succeed. One is never too old to learn something new.
No matter how successful, one must keep upgrading one's knowledge and skill. And reading is one of the avenues which we must dedicate to doing. Spend 30 minutes a day reading a book which enriches our knowledge, be it in life or or something to help us be better daycare providers.
Another avenue, which is often neglected is audio learning. For most of us, the minute we hop into the car, we will switch on the radio and drive off or if we are taking the public transport, we plug into our MP3s or radio. Many of us spend an average of 1.5 hours commuting everyday. What if you were to replace listening to the radio or music CD with an audio CD? Imagine the difference it makes. Instead of being updated on the latest song that is on the top 100 charts, you would have instead spent 1.5 hours listening and upgrading yourself with a new knowledge or skill which will contribute towards your success in life.
